 Initial ideas and planning

 For my project i will be creating a video documentary along with visual print media outlining the regional identity of people of Sunderland. The video documentary is useful as it allows room to properly show the audience an accurate account of regional identity through the use of interviews and 'voice of god' style of editing. This works effectively with print media as a brief explanation of what the documentary. I will discuss several key parts of Sunderland's history and strong significant cultural points such as; football, coal mining and ship building. 

To complete this project i will need a camera capable of video recording and photography to capture video and still images to use in my documentary and print advertisements. i will need access to a microphone to record any voiceover clips to add to the videos. Video and Photo editing software to piece together the clips i have taken into a montage and to edit print media to look professional and to add text, filters and import images. 

I am going to make a short 10 minuet documentary and series of print media exploring the skateboarding scene in Sunderland and the surrounding areas.

Editing- Production diary.

Introduction section.  The introduction is made up of clips from old rough cuts of skate videos i discovered on YouTube. I edited these together for the introduction along with the music and the voiceover. For the music in the introduction i knew i needed something that is scary and horror themed to match and set the tone of the video from the very beginning. I also used a flame effect in the introduction when displaying the name of the video to emphasise the videos theme. I achieved this by installing a flame effect template from  the internet  and adding it to my timeline. i added it twice on the top and the bottom of the screen to create the effect of the full screen being engulfed in flames. I like this editing technique as it allows for a dramatic opening scene. For the first scene in the video i was filmed in different areas on Sunniside, smiling and giving 2 thumbs up.
